The Company, together with Chuo Sogo Law Office, P.C., will hold a seminar entitled “– The Future of the Investment Management Business and Financial Regulation –”.
The amended Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, which came into force in May of Reiwa 7 (2025), established a voluntary registration system for the business undertaking investment management-related services.
As part of the government’s policy initiatives aimed at making Japan a leading asset management center, this system makes it possible for investment managers to satisfy the registration requirements for the investment management business by entrusting (outsourcing) compliance functions to a voluntarily registered operator, rather than hiring compliance personnel in-house. This is expected to make new entry into the investment management business easier and to invigorate Japan’s asset management industry.
To resolve the challenges faced by businesses that have previously found it difficult to hire such compliance personnel in-house — due to talent shortages, rising personnel costs, and the lengthening of the pre-application consultation period for investment management business registration, among other factors — the Company completed its registration for this business undertaking investment management-related services in November of Reiwa 7 (2025).
